Hello. I just recently ordered my Blade Pro. I'm pretty excited, it's going to be hard to wait the 2-3 weeks.

As this is my first gaming-capable laptop, there are some things I'm curious about.

    1. How essential is a cooling pad? Is there any chance of the insides melting if I play games for a long time without one? What's a good cooling pad to get?

    2. Is there a good wireless rechargable mouse I can use with it?

    3. What's a good usb headset?

    4. What are some other essentials I should think about? I already have a laptop bag that should be able to hold it.

BONUS QUESTION - Does anybody know how well the Blade Pro will run ARMA 3 or Sleeping dogs?

    Thanks!

You don't need a cooling pad, just ensure the bottom rear and side vents aren't blocked, zero overheat or throttling problems!

    1. Essential to use the Blade Pro, not at all from my short experience. The only reason why I have/use a cooling pad is to try and extend the life of the Blade as much as possible by keeping heat down. Like any other machine, too much heat is a slow but proven killer to its overall life/battery life. Other than that, it's just keeping it well ventilated and regular maintenance to keep it dust free.

    2. I've heard good things about the Razer Orochi and the Blades. Though I personally prefer wired mice, since I don't find myself extremely needing a wireless mouse.

    3. Must you use a USB headset? I would suggest taking advantage of the combo audio/mic jack that the Blade has. In terms of headsets, the Kraken is the best one I've used, among Razer headsets and among others. Pro if you need the mic.

    4. A sleeve might be useful if you need to carry the Blade alone, I also have the Razer sleeve for the 17" Blade. It's definitely much bigger and thicker, so I wouldn't count on putting it in another bag that only perfectly fits your Blade laptop. My backpack is fairly big so it's able to perfectly fit the Blade in the sleeve.

Also an external HDD if you have a lot of media files.
