Hello guys, I would like to know if any of you who play the COD Ghosts have had a DirectX error (Direct3DDevice: :present failed (DEVICE REMOVED): DXGI_ERROR_DIVICE_REMOVED (-2005270523)). It pisses me because I could not find a cause for that, I have tried pretty much everything people suggested on forums and still it doesn't work.

I have re installed the Intel and Nvidia drivers, I have updated them to the latest version, I have checked the game files on Steam, I tried running the game on native res and on half native with various game settings, I have tried to run the game in compatibility mode with win 8, I disabled scale on high dpi, disabled Steam overlay, I made sure it is set to run on the Nvidia card, I disabled the Razer Surrond, I removed the screen calibration profile, I made sure I had my mouse wired to the usb and not bluetooth. I don't know what the f*&$# device it thinks is being removed.

Have you heard of this issue? What do you suggest?
    Cheers

EDIT: BTW afaik it only happened on this game

I have attached the transcription of my support chat with Activision. @RazerCS any help is appreciated.
Paola C: Activision Support reporting for duty!
    You: Hello Paola
Paola C: Hi, Felipe. How can I help you?
You: I have been experiencing an DirectX error when playing COD Ghosts... I read on the forums about it but nothing said there solved the issue, I can see this is a very old issue still it hasn't been solved?
Paola C: I'm sorry to know that. Let me do my best to assist you.
Paola C: Can I get your Steam ID and your email address?
You: my email is [email protected]
You: my steam id is nanias_19
Paola C: Thanks. When did this issue started to happen?
You: since the first time I started playing it
You: my computer exceeds the minimum system requirements, all drivers and software are up to date, and I have checked the game files integrity on Steam
You: the error is Direct3DDevice: :present failed (DEVICE REMOVED) : DXGI_ERROR_DIVICE_REMOVED (-2005270523)
Paola C: Can you send us a file of your DirectX so that we can further check on this?
    You: yes
You: I have it ready to send cuase I knew you would ask it
Paola C: Just log in to support.activision.com then select My Support, My Cases and choose Case #03515143. You will find an option to attach a file there.
    You: done
You: I have also attached a log from my computer so you can see all its info
    You: hardware and software
Paola C: Thanks. Let me further check. Be right back after 2-3 minutes.
    You: no problem
    Paola C: Thanks.
Paola C: Thanks for patiently waiting. We already checked your DxDiag and there is an issue with your video card. From your DxDiag, it shows that there are two video cards, you need to disable the one. You can check this article for the minimum system requirements of the game: Activision Support
Paola C: This second link is for info about PC error messages: Activision Support
You: Yes it is a notebook
You: And there is no way to completely disable one of them it is up to the driver (Nvidia Optimus) to decide which card to use, the only setting I have is to ask the video card driver to use the Nvidia graphics and that I have already done
You: I can launch and play the game for some while until this error occurs so there is not a low spec hardware issue
You: but it is a software issue most probably, between the game windows and the video card driver
Paola C: But the video card that your Notebook has doesn't have the capacity to run the game without any issue.
Paola C: In order to run the game, all the requirements should be met.
You: What you mean about it? I can play any current and old games.
You: I understand that and I have a higher processor, ram, storage and video card than the minimum specs
You: My notebook has a GTX870M that is way more powerful than a GTS450 as the minimum spec asks for
You: it is a software issue
You: As I have seen people o forums with desktop cards with the same error, and even better specs, trying work arounds becuase no solution has been given to this matter
You: something is making the game think a device has been removed even though nothing has been removed.
Paola C: Based from the DXDiag that you have uploaded. It's not showing the GTX870M is detected but instead it's the integrated graphics driver which is a Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600.
You: and since no other game I have shows this error the only cause I can think of is the coding of the game
You: yes that is a know issue from dxdiag, it won't run on the dedicate graphics card even if we select it on the drivers setting because it reads the card that is outputting the signal to the monitor and in notebooks case it is always the integrated card
You: My notebook as a New Razer Blade if that helps with the hardware specs
Paola C: Basically, that is the main reason why you can't run the game. Your system is detecting that Intel(R) HD Graphics 460 is the primary video card and in order to run the game the primary video card that should be set is the GTX870M.
You: Yes and that is set on the driver settings and the game is running of the GTX870M card... But somehow the game after a while thinks something has been disconnected (maybe the video card) even though nothing has been
    You: and then it crashs
    You: crashes
You: I have attached a screen snap from the Nvidia driver showing that it is running the game
Paola C: Where did you attached the screenshot? It's not appearing in your case.
    You: there you go
You: I didn't confirm it before sry
Paola C: Have you already attached it?
    You: yes
Paola C: Let me check real quick.
    You: ok np
    Paola C: Thanks.
Paola C: Thanks for patiently waiting. We already checked the picture. Since the system is detecting that your primary video card is the Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 and not what you said that is set, you can refer to an IT guy to help you make sure that all the programs in your laptop recognizes that GTX870M is the primary video card.
You: On the picture it shows that the game is running of the Nvidia card
    You: isn't it?
You: do you want a screen shot of my driver configuration page where I set the game to use the Nvidia card also?
You: I don't need IT help... O need a game fix
Paola C: Unfortunately, this is an issue with the configuration of your laptop and not an in game issue.
You: And how can so many people have the same issue, even on desktops?
Paola C: And base from what we are seeing, I'm afraid that your PC does not meet the minimum requirement to run the game due to your graphics card.
You: lol, ok I see no advancing on this matter... I will post this chat on forums and foward it to the notebook developer so maybe they get in touch with your company and them they can show you that the issue is with the game not the hardware.
Paola C: Alright, it's your prerogative to do so. Is there anything aside from this issue that I can assist you with?
You: I appreciate your effort on this case.
You: no that is it for now
    You: thank you very much
Paola C: You're welcome. Thanks for contacting. If you need more info or help, feel free to contact us back. You can also get assistance from Social Media at https://twitter.com/ATVIAssist and Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/ActivisionAssist.
Paola C: Have a good one.
