Hey all fellow owners of the Blade 14 and Blade Pro,

I've had my Blade Pro for slightly more than half a year. It is only recently that i discovered my CPU cores temperature have quite a big difference between all 4 cores when under load. Ambient temperature is always around 26 - 28 degree celsius. Both exhaust vents are cleared using compressed air canister. When using XTU to stress test the CPU, the following are the results (using RealTemp to monitor CPU temps):

    Idle temp with no load:
    All cores at 44c

XTU 100% load stress test after 5 mins:
    Core 1 : 77c
    Core 2 : 88c
    Core 3 : 98c
    Core 4 : 95c

Is someone able to conduct the same test and post the results for a comparison or is able to help me understand what is going on? As far as i know, my other laptop which is the ASUS G74SX never had temp difference between the cores as large as the ones i'm seeing on my Blade Pro. At most it's only about 1c-2c difference on the G74SX. Also not to mention that due to the high temp i'm seeing on my Blade Pro, the CPU is starting to throttle. Any advice or knowledge on this would be greatly appreciated. On a side note, my GPU is sitting at 32c on idle and about 71c on near max load while playing COD:Ghost (with a +135 core overclock).

I only have a Blade 14, but my cores don't have that big of a range. They were all within 3 degrees of each other under load.

Any chance you could also post your temperatures? Such as your ambient (estimate will do) and core temps at max load? So that i can have a better reference and decide if i am going to "self-void" my warrenty and risk a repasting job myself as i can't find any disassembly guide online.

Thank you so much for your response.

Edit: About 5 minutes into stress, it was pretty much 80-81 degrees for all 4 cores.

Thank you NovaTornado for the response. I guess there is really a problem with my unit or that the ambient temp where you are situated at is much colder than where i am.

Try measuring the temps with a different utility again to check. If the results are the same, I would consider contacting support and possibly using the warranty.

A little update, i will be sending in my unit for a repaste job with Razer Support. Asked them to use the thermal paste that i have included with my unit as i send it in. Was told it would take 3-5 working days to get it returned. I will do another test to compare the before and after temperature once the unit is back from the repaste job. Hopefully the technician does a good job.

Sorry it took awhile but I'm comfortable enough to publish the results after significant testing.

Razer Support not only just did a repaste job, they went all the way and completely replaced the heatsinks as well. Not only that, they've also used the thermal paste which I have included when I rma the laptop. It's the Arctic Cooling MX4 thermal compound.

Temps have significantly improved. Before, the cpu was peaking at 98c and it was throttling at 40% at times. Not only that, it reached the peak temp in a short few seconds during max load stress test. Besides that, the temp difference between all 4 cores were quite huge. The highest core at 98c and the lowest at 77c.

Now, it's peaking at 87c and the temp difference between the highest core temp and the lowest core temp is 3c occasionally 5c. It also took a much longer time to reach peak temps. Cpu is no longer throttling. A repaste job with a good aftermarket thermal compound is highly recommended. It reduced a whopping 11c in temps for my unit.
