I have just download Adobe Audition which I use to record some drums. I usually do this on a desktop pc where input and output jacks are separate. Now this is my first time doing recordings with the razer blade.

The problem I am having is that whenever I plug in the audio signal to the laptop through the jack, the laptop sees it as an speaker, and I cannot record that signal into Adobe Audition.

When I look into the recording devices, I just see one device which is the mic from the webcam.

Anyone had this problem in the past ?

You need an audio interface. Sorry. No line in on recent laptops.

I use headphones that have a separate headphone and mic plug. I bought this adapter from amazon to split the 4 pole socket in the Razer to separate headphone and mic sockets. Works great, you might be able to use the mic plug as a line in.
