If anyone is interested - received mine and it works flawlessly.
No need anymore to carry the original one with me at all times when I'm at work (keep one in the office) :)

Thanks for this, I always recommend people buy a 2nd adapter. It aids in troubleshooting problems and is just good to have. Nothing worse than a $2k hunk of metal and you can't use because of a $40 adapter.

I do just the opposite as you, I keep the smaller official one in my bag at all times ready to go. I use my larger ones I already had on hand when at home. They don't get as hot and are cheaper to replace. I think they may be rated for 180w.

    Hey np at all !

I meant to say that I keep this 3rd party replacement at work at all times, and the original at home :)
Must say that the purchase was definitely worth the money. Great built quality. A tad bigger, but it was expected, It is also rated 150w according to the specs.

I bought 2 of them one to keep in my home office and one to keep at the work office. They are not as small as the original but I am not planning on carrying them around as they will stay static in both locations. Keep the portable one in my travel bag.

They arrived today- I noticed an issue with the adapters- when hovering the mouse over the power icon in the task bar- displays the message ("Plugged in, not charging"). I tried both new adapters and have the same message for both.

Digital133t- please verify your new adapter is not having the same issue? I am not losing any battery life, it stays at 97% but does not seem to be charging up the battery. I may kick on a game to see if it drains the battery.

    Thank you!

That is normal. Once your battery drop below a certain set battery level threshold, usually 95%, it will start charging again. This is to help with your battery's longevity.

    @ Mmalek,

Certainly. will try mine in a couple of hours.
But, I must say, I noticed the same with the original charger (97% lock) when I first received it. Never paid attention to it since.

    Will report back soon

    Exactly the case !
Just tried mine. At first the battery's charge was exactly @ 95% " plugged in - not charging"
As soon as I dropped the battery down below 95% - joy. Charging just fine for me :)

That's too protect the battery from overcharging

Some notebooks also have a "battery saver" feature where it stops charging at a lower value like 80% or lower, then just cycles between 75-80. It's better for the battery to be "stored" at lower than full. My Samsung gamer 7 has that feature.

I have the GPK adapter from Amazon too. It's bulky and ugly but it stays at my desk and works great. Also, it's been silent so far.
