It is well established that LCDs look their best when run at their native resolution. Something to do with not being able to handle fractional pixels very well.

What I want to know is: does this apply to running at a resolution that does not result in fractional pixels? I.E. for the 3200 x 1800 LCD in the new Razer Blde 14, if we run it at 1600 x 900, that results in 4 native pixels for each selected screen resolution pixel.

Could someone with a Blade with the high res LCD please try this out and comment on the display quality?

I ran the desktop at 1600x900 while some of my apps were still not playing nice with HiDPI. It isn't a 4 for 1, it still scales down with interpolation. That's just the way it works.

That said, all the apps I use now work well with HiDPI so it's a non-issue at this point. I still play plenty of games at 1600x900, and in that they look great.

Just run the desktop at 3200x1800, works great at this point, The games just run at whatever resolution works for the performance you're looking for, they look great as well.
