After the SNAFU with my 2013 Blade Pro, Razer is upgrading me to a 2014. So I'll post some pictures in 2-3 weeks when I receive it.

The 2014 RBP 256GB is now shipping in 3-5 days. Anyone get their shipping info yet? I ordered the 512GB, I hope it ships soon. I decided to give my new 2013 RBP to my oldest son, couldn't bring myself to return it since I got the 20% discount. Ordered the 2014 Blade 256GB for my wife and giving her new 2013 Blade to my oldest daughter. That will make seven blades in my house. I really have a bad addiction for Razer products! My five kids love it though as they get nice laptop upgrades every year.

Second that. How have you felt Razer blade pro have been lasting? Like do you feel reliability is an issue? I own an alienware and I don't know if it's because I have two graphics cards and I use and run it all the time, but it's been having mechanical issues on and off.

Some people have cars or motorcycles as hobbies, some have high dollar a/v rooms. I like laptops. I usually buy myself one a year and hand down one. This year I had to buy two as my wife insisted on a Blade 14. I don't know that I will be able to buy 2 new a year going forward but you never know. I do love me some gaming laptops.

I have the same problem :) People say it's gadget craziness but I say it's practical to have the most updated laptop. I spend a lot of time on my laptop playing pc games so if i am getting utility out of it and it makes me extremely happy, its an investment :) it would be different if I bought something i dont use every day like a really expensive chinchilla fur coat.

That's hogwash, I hope I don't have to pay $400 to customs for a laptop. I'll reject delivery until Razer sorts it out.

Got my 512GB 2014 RBP today. It feels much sturdier than the 2013 RBP that I had for a few days. That said, I think the problem was with the specific one I had, as this new one feels like it should, ya know? The Switchblade mouse buttons are much sturdier, and the software all works much better. Synapse gave me trouble once, and restarting the program restored Switchblade UI no problem. I almost don't like to compare because it feels like such a different experience.

Razer really did a great job covering their quality control flub, and I really appreciate the difference.

I'm hesitant to compare too much, since the first was such a lemon. The 2013 RBP I had was not a reliable comparison. It had hardware issues that very well could've affected performance. The screens on the Switchblade UI are definitely the same. The monitor doesn't look any different, down to the same color profile.

I am still waiting on my 2014 RBP 512GB. Could you check to see what they are using for the SSD? I am curious if the are still using the Samsung PM841.

The driver states it is identified as a SAMSUNG MZMTD512HAGL, which I think is the same thing.

I'm hitting a wall trying to identify which I have via software. Everything just says 860M, and I'm not interested in voiding the warranty opening it up.

    Hi all,
New to the site. Been using MBP for the last few years for video editing, but now switching to premier and love the portability offered by the 14inch blade. I also need Windows for other reasons. I looked last year, but didn't like the screen. Love t now. Would appreciate any comments on the 2013 blade's battery life and any users who video edit on it. I know video editing will kill the battery, but GP usage info will help

Has anyone tried running Windows 7 on the new Pro? I can't stand Windows 8 and would prefer to run 7 if possible.

According to this URL / review it does: Hands-on: Updated Razer Blade and Blade Pro laptops are slim, more supercharged | PCWorld

"The Blade Pro also receives a boost in graphics power by switching from last year's Nvidia GeForce GTX 765M to a Nvidia GeForce GTX 860M built using Nvidia's much improved Maxwell architecture."

Well, I originally posted up a bunch of questions, but Razer's projected ship date on the 14" forced my hand. My new 2014 Blade pro will be here tomorrow [providing Newegg gets it out on time] The amazing part is, I actually *SAVED* $150 [as newegg does not yet charge me tax]

I'm a little disappointed about not getting the 870m, but at the same time I've been slowly starting to fear that a 14", ESPECIALLY an ultra high resolution one, would make the gaming experience a lot like my Surface Pro. I don't cope well with cramped screens ;)

It's Maxwell on the New Razor Pro. I bought mine from Amazon last week and confirmed with GPU-Z the 860M is Maxwell.

It's well worth the money. I cashed in my 14" preorder for the 2014 17", and I couldn't be happier [of course part of that is saving $150 in tax and actually HAVING my shiny new notebook to type this on]

I still think they should've added an IPS edge to edge glass screen to this thing, but the TN panel is still beautiful. The ONLY issue I have had is with the SBUI programmable buttons. I set them up, and when I restarted, the icons on the buttons were gone. Links still work, but no icons. This is not to be confused with the Razer supplied apps [the icons for those are still functioning normally] Also had a slight issue with either the latest nvidia driver beta OR the latest GEforce Experience beta [I don't know which caused it] that caused Diablo 3 to be stuck on integrated graphics. Rolling back to the stock drivers from Razer website fixed that particular issue [PS: the integrated graphics drove D3 at 1080 with medium settings around 30 FPS....not too shabby ^^
