Hello there, can anybody confirm if one can remove the new blade battery and run it only from the power brick? Could someone weight it without the battery. Cheers

The battery in the blade is built-in like that of most ultraportables and not intended to be user-servicable. Technically, this should be possible, but I don't think anyone will risk damaging their new toy to find out.

Just out of curiosity, why would you want to do this?

I was thinking the same exact thing!
You will not save much weight on an already pretty lite weight laptop and I can't really see what good it would do to do this.

I know it is internal and not supposed to be removed, but I am pretty sure we can and is not difficult at all, unless it is soldered, or is part of the body or something like that. I am just wondering if it is possible and how much weight I would save, batteries are usually pretty heavy. And since I am a freeeeequent flyer (my job btw) anything I can save on weight and bulk (I am downsizing from a Clevo P150EM because of that and which I already don't carry the battery around) would be good since I will have to carry the psu anyway... cheers

Why would removing a battery break something? I don't get it... how is it attached to the notebook?

Because you need to open up the laptop to get to the battery that is located here... http://forum.notebookreview.com/raz...blade-14-ship-date-thread-39.html#post9634773.

I'm not sure how the battery is connected from just looking at the picture.

Also, it might void the warranty - depends on how Razer judges things.

Good luck and don't break it.

Lol sorry of I sounded that clueless... I know where the battery is located don't even need to go to that link and I know opening it up voids the warranty if something is broken in the process, that is not my question. But thank you...
If someone could help I appreciate.

Sorry but I don't think anyone that just got the Blade is willing to try and take out the batterry if it's not supposed to come out in the first place and risk destroying there new very expensive laptop.

Lol I really don't get why u say destroying, isn't it to tragic for a simple component removal? Like ppl are replacing the ssd, how can a battery be so destructive? But thanks anyway, I will wait until someone with the skills to do it report back when able. Cheers

Battery probably weighs less than a pound, likely about 8ozs. Just seems like a silly thing to do for a laptop with an enclosed battery.

I got the skills but not the balls to try and potentially void the warranty if something happens to go wrong.Cables can snap, things can break with unfamiliar electronic components, and sometimes taking something apart is much, much easier than putting things back together.
You have to understand people have been waiting months to get there own units and sometimes things that seem simple turn out more complicated than you think they will.
I still don't get why you think saving less than a pound of weight will really make much that big a difference when carrying it around.
Good luck finding someone willing to try.
