Packard Bell was caught putting used parts into computers labeled as "new" so I wouldn't consider them a good company no. As for your specs they aren't very good at all for a $1,500.00 notebook you can do much much better for that price. Anything around $1.5k should have a Core 2 Duo processor and 2 Gigs of ram.

In Eastern Europe they try to sell something, unfortunaltely, even here selling such crap is a hard job. I wouldnt go for Packard, especially this one for 1500$...

yeah it definitely doesn't seem like an older company's product with poor ratings seems like a place to buy, especially for the stuff you are getting it seems overpriced...

Packard Bell - wow thats a name I have not heard in so long and as I remember it, they were rubbish but I'm talking about the days of the 486 and Pentium 1. As I recall, the Packard Bell brand name (not the factories) has been sold numerous times to various conglomerates. Packard Bell back then was the equivalent of E-Machines. Very low end stuff. Last I heard they were bought by an Israeli company but I heard they went under.

That's all I can tell and sorry if I was not much help. I suggest you do more research.
