Hello and happy New year 2008 for everybody!

It's my firt post and I am very happy to have found this forum.

Well, I have got a problem with my Packardbell Easynote R3420 display.
Within 2 minutes after use my screen display a lot of red/blue streaks.
=> To detect the issue, I have connected a LCD screen in my laptop and the problem stayed.

I think my graphic card - an ATI radeon X200m- is the problem. Isn't it?
It's an intregated card and consequently It's impossible to replace it.

What could you suggest me? Do I have to change my motherboard or there is another solution?

    Thank you for your help.

    bybye :)

If the problem remains after connecting an external monitor the the graphics card is indeed the problem. And in that case, i'm afraid your in trouble. It's either about to fry or just overheating, altough i lean towards the first option. Try cleaning the heatsink and see if it helps.

    Hi,
I'm working on solving the same problem for a friend of mine.
After opening the notebook, I have discovered that the left support of the screen is broken (the one which is just above the external VGA socket). When we open/close the notebook, the plastic support presses on the upper left corner of the motherboard which I think is harmful. I try to stick it with superglue and I put some grease to help the axis movement, but I don't know if the problem will be solved. At least, I think I have found the cause of the trouble. (I must precise that the screen was full of pink stripes - even on an external display...) My friend's sons told her she now has a "Barbie notebook".
Not sure my post will help to solve, maybe it can give clues to find the cause.
    Bye,
    Bruno.

it worked!!! I don't know it it really was the broken plastic part which pressed upon the motherboard or if I removed some shortcutting crap... but I don't have any pink stains and stripes anymore.
