    Hello,

I've found this notebook. It's a Packard Bell v7900 and I would like to know if it is a good deal for 1199 Euro.
¿What about the X1600? I have read the mobile graphic comparison chart but I am a bit confused with X1600 512MB Hypermemory because I dont know how many memory its dedicated. ¿its as good as other types of X1600?

    Packard Bell v 7900:
Intel Core processor Duo T2300 (2x 1.66 GHz)
    1024 MB DDR2 RAM ( 2 x 512 MB)
    80 GB hard disk
    ATI Radeon X1600 512MB Hypermemory
    DVD Dual+R9
15.4" TFT WXGA - Diamond View technology

I have also fill the FAQ,

    1) What is your budget?
Maximum would be around 1100 Euro or ($)

    2) What size notebook would you prefer?
    15,4" , could be 17”

    3) What tasks will you be performing with the notebook?
Studying (engineering) and some gaming (BF2 )

    4) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places or leaving it on your desk?
I would most likely leave it at my desk.

    5) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games?
Yes, action games like BF2 or RTS.

    6) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
    No preference.

    7) How many hours of battery life do you need?
    Not really a problem.

    8) Do you mind buying online without seeing the notebook in person?
I would prefer to see it.

    9) What country are you buying this in?
    Spain

    10) From the choices below, what screen resolutions would you prefer?
WXGA = Widescreen eXtended Graphics Array

    11) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen?
Sorry don't know much about it.

    12) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?
Yes but not the most important thing.

    13) How long do you want this laptop to last?
    As long as possible.

    14) How much hard drive space do you want; 40GB to 120GB?
    80GB would be ok.

    15) Do you need a DVD, DVD-CD/RW or DVD-R drive?
Yes read and write(if possible) DVD.

Thanks for help and sorry for my poor English.

    Julen.

the x1600 should performa similarly to others...unless they downclocked the gpu. it does look like it is a pretty decent deal for a notebook with the x1600 in europe.

I would strongly advise AGAINST getting a Packard Bell laptop. Ive had one for close to 2 years and its the most ****iest piece of stpuid ass junk ive ever had. The qulaity of the laptop is cheap, the materials are cheap and drivers from their website will seriously screw up your laptop.

Dont waste your money. If you need a budget notebook look into Acer.

    thax for the answers.

yep i know is the risk of a brand offering a notebook of this characteristics but if I would like to find a notebook of HP,Toshiba,Asus with the same char. it will be more expensive.

Once again i'd just like to clear up this mess. We've been over this before. Need i remind you AGAIN radditz that your laptop is like 5,000,000 years old with ancient packard bell technology, they prodyuced this laptop before they replaced their components for superior ones. Packard bell has changed within the last year and are making notebooks on par with Sony, Toshiba and Dell. The DiamondView LCD technology in recent packard bell notebooks is second to none and definately very similar to Sony's X-Black, its certainly better than Acer anyway.

Packard Bell is an excellent laptop brand and use quality materials such as Superior durable plastics, aluminium and magnesium alloy. It is NOT a budget brand, however they do have budget notebooks in their product line-up. The V7900 is one of Packard Bell's top notebooks and houses the excellent DiamondView screen. I myself own the W3520 series notebook with the 17ins DiamondView LCD and i am extremely happy with it, i custom made the laptop to my specification (the specs are in my signature below). Definately go for this Packard Bell notebook, it is one of the best available for the price and their customer services will be at your disposal to help you with any inconsistincies that may arouse with your notebook. If you need to know anything else about packard bell please PM me Julen.
