Untill a decent laptop can be had, i found a real good offer for a laptop and i think i going to take since i don't have now a computer at all.
The config is Intel t4400. 4gb ram, 640hd and gt240m.
The price that i'll pay is 1400 RON = 327 EUR. THe machine is used for 2 months.

I was wondering if you guys could give me any heads up about this config.
I'm going to keep it until x7200 with 470m sli or until sandy bridge, depending on how good it performs.

How good is this T4400 cpu ? How good of a gaming card is this 240m in the 1366x768 resolution ? Im guesing it's a good configuration seeing as now i use a atom netbook for pc that only does internet and 480p movies.
What type of slot is the GPU in ? Could it possibly be upgraded to a bigger better model ?

    Thanks for the info.

I got the laptop, formatted the hdd, instaled windows 7 ultimate. 3dmark 2006 score in 1280x768 6624. Pretty good for a 350 eur laptop.
However the laptop was only the laptop and the charger.

Even though the laptop is new and not used, it gives me a BSOD in windows, with memory dumping.
I downloaded the generic nvidia driver, and sometimes i got a message that the display driver has stopped responding.
Havent had time yet to play any game to see if it is gpu related, but when i run 3dmark it ran just fine.
However furmark won't start and also msi kombustor.

Is it possible that the gpu might be broken ?

It seems when i try to play something in 3d i eventualy get the message the display driver has stopped working and i get artifacts, like many dots on the image.

Does this mean the gpu is busted, or maybe a vram on it, or maybe is the cooling insufficient
    ?
