I foolishly bought a PB Easynote F5280 off ebay!

The battery will not charge, I bought another battery and when it came fully charged it worked until it run out and now won't charge anymore.

The original battery is 11v but the new one is 14v does this make any differance, should it still work?

I have read that this is due to the BIOS but I have tried the update, and it still doesn't work.

It works fine on the AC adaptor, but I cannot for the life of me get either battery to charge.

The charging light comes on and windows displays the battery life etc, and one battery (11V) will fully charge in about 5 mins, then last for less than a minute when running on battery, then other (14V) is stuck at 11% charging, and will not budge, when the AC power is removed the battery turns straight off, therefore that battery can either have no life or is not compatible with the Laptop.

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Sounds like theres a messed up connection in the device, this wont allow it to charge the battery. You get what you pay for on ebay. I havent had good experiences on ebay haha.

Its not an ebay problem this time its because of Packard Bells cruddy manufacturing techniques. I had that exact same laptop and posted on this exact problem here.

There is no fix, you might want to send Packard Bell a thank you note for disabling battery charge from the BIOS and then relesaing a fix which doesnt fix the problem.

Its good having a portable computer that doesnt run on battery isnt it? Makes total sense. Thank you Packard Bell.

Sorry but you are out of luck.
