Hello everyone, this is my first post here.
I have an EN TJ61-SB-008IT.
It has:
Running on the original Windows Vista 32 bit up to date (sp2 etc.).
- Amd athlon X2 dual core QL 64
- 4 GiB RAM DDR2 667 MT/s
- 250 GiB HDD sata2
- Radeon Mobility HD4570 512 MiB
- M780G (mobile) Northbridge Chipset + SB700
The notebook doesn't run so bad but I have some issues about the GPU.
First off, look at this pic I screenshotted with GPU-Z:
As you can see, the GPU itself can run at PCIe 2.0 x16, but the bus is running at PCIe 1.1 x16, even if I try to run the GPU-Z render test or any other gpu-intensive task, like a 3dmark or a videogame or some other gpu benchmark.
Second issue I have is that if I install the latest ati radeon drivers for this gpu, I can't open the Vision Control Center panel, ex Catalyst Control Center Panel: if I reinstall the old original driver, the Catalyst Control Center panel works, but I have issues with Youtube (no decoding hw acceleration and it can't run video full screen).
Last but not least, I'm a TF2 player, and I noted that with the latest drivers I have less performance than the old drivers, so I tried to do a 3dmar03 benchmark and I found that my pc can't go any further than a bit over 3000 with the "fastest" drivers (the old ones): I found some other notebook reviews with my config (an acer with exactly same hardware) that did like 8000+ at the 3dmark03!
So, how can I fix all of these issues?
Besides, I thought that my chipset has the radeon hd3200 (or same series) IGP, but mine doesn't have it: is there a way to enable it? Like with a BIOS mod?
BTW, there's a really weird thing about the BIOS: on the Packard Bell support page there's only the version 1.14 as the latest available, but I have already the 1.15 installed, and I downloaded it from the same page! Now, there's a weirder thing either, since my bios is dated "12/24/2009" (it's what CPU-Z says), and the 1.14 on the page is dated 02/24/2010 (so it says the page): how can I know what's the real latest one?

PCI Express 1.1 is not an issue- it's probably meant to conserve power since your card is not fast enough to need PCI Express 2 (Acer sticked to it even with much faster card like Radeon HD5650 and is still made no difference).
As for the CCC- I think it uses .NET- make sure you have it installed otherwise the control panel might not work.
As for the performance- it is indeed too low- with a DDR2 card like yours it should be between 7500 and 8500 in 3DMark 03. Make sure that the card is not on power-saving mode and that neither is the CPU (run a test whith CPU connected and power-profile wet to full performance or balanced) -
It's still missing the ccc panel tho
Update: I tried to install .net framework 4.5 + updates, it didn't help
