    Didn't think Packard Bell still existed!

    saw the forum and was shocked to see they still exist. i remember i had one back in 94 or 95. i know in the 90s they became the #4 pc maker in america. then their quality went down hill and out the door they went. same thing that happened to acer. what brand do you think is next to fall off from the mainstream crowd? my guess is gateway mostly gone within 10 years

    With GW being bought out by Acer, it is only a matter of time before that brand falls too...most likely.

    A packard bell was my first computer. :D Windows 95, pentium 233 lol. The memories.

    With gateway being the third largest in the USA i doubt Acer would discontinue it any time soon.

    Rebranding Gateways as Acers has the possibility of losing a lot of customers.

    From a business mind set, I see no reason why Acer would discontinue the Gateway brand, until and unless Gateway goes in the red.
