    hi everybody,

Just wanted to let you know that you can remap all the keys on your laptop including the QuickLaunch buttons (you can't remap only the FN key) using KeyTweak - a software nicely pointed out by John :)

In order to remap the QLs go to half teach mode, click on scan and press the desired QL button.

This way you can uninstall the QL software and as far as KeyTweak is changing only the registry you dont need any resident program for your QLs

the drawback is that you can't assign apps to the QLs this way but everything comes at a price ;)

Thanks for this update on the remapping options.

Did you go as far as to move the key caps around?

You can of course apply apps to other buttons though (but not with KeyTweak directly sadly). I have assigned the Right Windows key and the Menu key (next to win key) to launch applications.
I can see how KeyTweak could be better done though. Make it a bit less technical to use and also let you choose applications to run from buttons for a start. ;)

I was thinking of writing my own program that would be a bit more powerful, but I just don't have the time at the moment unfortunately.

I have toyed with the idea of swapping Caps and Tab round, but I've not tried it out yet. I may well try that out for a few days though, as I use tab vastly more often than caps.

Just a quick one to say I switched tab and caps lock round and immediately it was natural that way round to me. If you've thought about doing it (like if you accidentaly hit caps when you're going for tab) then it's definately something worth doing.
