running rivatuner shows that my core temp is idling at over 60 C. is this anything to be alarmed about?

Nope...it's normal temp for regular use, should rise up to 70 and above when gaming.

looks normal, depending on the ambient room temperature it could be higher or lower.

If the IFL90 is running this hot, I hope it is by design and it doesn't mean an increase in fan noise over cooler notebooks. My Asus runs at 40-50C with the fan increasing above 50.

it's packing a pretty mean video card, which can probably account for the high temps, but it's not that unusual to see a 60c idle temp, especially in warmer weather. now that it's getting cool, my core temps hover between 50-60c with normal use, mostly around the lower 50's though. Load temps cap off at 80c, which i think is not bad (could be lower) considering my GPU is overclocked a bit. Fan doesn't become audible till around 65-70c and higher.

Thanks. Glad to see that the fan change points are higher to keep noise down even though the unit tends to run hotter.
