Hi all. First post here, im in need of some help.
just recieved my gl-30 from anadem today. now after i installed windows xp pro croporate edition with all hotfixes up to mid september 06, incluing sp2, ive installed all the drivers which came with the laptop.
after installing the drivers i noticed it is getting hot on my lap. so i popped the nvida control and check temp of GPU and it showed me 77degC and it kept climbing to bout 84 before i decided to shut down the laptop.
now what i can tell u is that the fan is not working while it should. when i just boot the laptop the fan starts on, but then during windows startup or just before it it shuts down. if i keep the bios screen up the fan works and cools down the whole thing.

other issue i noticed is that left arm rest is getting somewhat hot just above the HDD.

can anyone help especially witht eh gpu core temp?

Is that the BIOS that came with the system or did you update it?

Also, I would give your reseller's tech support a call. They should be able to help you solve this problem or set up an RMA for you.

yes this is the BIOS that came with the laptop when i recieved it.
my supplier is closed till october 11 cause of some holidays.
now what i notice is, that the fan just does not work under windows. wierd stuff. i think i will flash the bios today and go back to BIOS ver 109 and not 109A. seems to me that the fan is set to operate only when the cpu is heating up when in windows.

If your system is working though, you may want to hold off on flashing the BIOS. You don't want to create additional problems if you're not sure what you're doing.

Playing around with BIOS should not be taken lightly.

well, i might try to reinstall windows, but then again, it does seem to be a bios problem and not a windows one. is there some way to view fan speeds and on/off settings in windows or the bios? (which btw, this pheonixBIOS seems to be lacking some options like energy savings mode, fan and temp info, etc...)
