most of the time when using my 6224w is on my desk with an external monitor and I want to close the lid so it doesn't get dusty, but I'm afraid the screen might get damaged by the heating below it, especially when playing games.
    what do you think?

I don't think the screen gets damaged, in that case it will be the first.
But it's not recomended to runt he machine with closed lid for a long time because the machine gets some of it's air for cooling trough the keyboard, so it could couse the machine itself to overheat.

Either don't fully close the display (leave a gap of at least 1cm to let some air in) or, if the monitor stand has an open back, fold the display backwards before pushing the computer under the stand.

i dont think it is a good idea to close the lid while gaming, etc. cuz that will make the air circulation bad(6224 absorbs air from the keyboard as i heard)

PS: why not use dual monitor display? i use my laptop screen as an extension for the external one, thus i can use more space and i can monitor something else while gaming.... :D
