    Hello...

I purchased an IFL 90 fromn Powernotebooks about a year ago.

I just recently started having issues with my Intel Wireless card (4965AGN). It will no longer connect on the first try when I boot the computer up. I have to right click on the wireless icon and hit "Repair". Then it works fine every time until the next boot up.
I updated the driver to the latest but no luck.

    Any suggestions?

Are you sure the problem is with the card and not the network? That happens to me sometimes when either the signal strength is low or the network is something bizarre (like the one in the apartment I usually stay at when I go to France).

I travel the country as a pilot and it does it at other places also. There are occasions that it does connect without me having to "Repair" it but I haven't payed any attention to how strong the signal was when it did work.
It does this about 95% of the time. I am switching cable companies shortly and along with that I will be getting a wireless "N" router so maybe that will help here at home. Still doesn't fix my problem when I am on the road though.

Yep, I have the latest drivers. Downloaded them about a month ago.

I wonder if removing and re-installing the card would do anything?

Removing the card isn't likely to help. It clearly works once you do the repair, so I'd say it's a software issue. Is Windows managing the connection or the Intel software? Try switching from one to the other and see if it does the same thing. If you go the the Intel Proset Wireless utility in your Start Menu/Programs/Intel folder you should find an option to Allow Windows to manage the connection or have the Intel software do it.

Also, if you just updated the driver, rather than reinstalled it, you might give that a try as well. Completely remove the Intel software from Add/Remove programs, go to Device Manager and remove the Intel 4965 device from under Network Adapters. Restart, cancel the Found New Hardware wizard, and then install the driver you downloaded.
