Yesterday I noticed that my Wireless Select Switch application wasn't working anymore. Fn-F2 didn't do anything anymore, and the icon in the systemtray wasn't working either. So I tried reinstalling it, but now it says "You can not install this version on your system". What's that all about, I've been using this app for months now and suddenly it won't work  ?

Have you recently upgraded your BIOS or installed any new software?

Have you tried to uninstall the software, reboot, then reinstall?

If you have an HEL80, is the hardware switch working?

    Haven't tried the reboot yet.
    Yes, it's working.

Definitely give the uninstall, reboot, reinstall method prescribed by pyro. Hopefully it's just a file that got corrupted or written over that will be fixed that way.

    Good luck.

Personally I have never installed it, I hate mostly useless stuff sitting in mem and polling.
I just use the hardware switch.

So do I... but I find it odd that the Fn + F2 doesn't work without the software.. I would have thought it is more like the hardware switch...

Being in the middle of trying to cram as much Windows installer information in my head as possible, that sounds a bit like the sort of error you'd get when you try install two packages with different PackageCodes, but identical other codes. Maybe Windows is confused and thinks the original program is still installed?

XP. Tried all the different version I could find, no luck. Sweeped the registry for anything related to WSS, deleted everything, deleted Installshield cache files, but no luck. I hate, cause it decreases my battery life.

Perhaps a reinstall of XP & drivers is worth it to you at this point?

Not really, just did that  . And I won't have any guarantee it'll fix things indefinitely.
