I got a Vigor Ares which is just the 259en3 with a custom paint job. I was wondering if it was possible to replace the lcd with the alienware m5500 screen since they have higher resolutions. I wouldnt see why not unless they are thicker or something.

Theres more than just the size of the screen, and if it will fit, there comes issues such as finding out if your video in your system can support the new LCD, not to mention if the connections between the LCD and the base system is compatible with each other. Now seeing how your thinking of Alienware here, something tells me it might be a bit harder to do as well.

Well since both laptops are Unwill259en3 they both come with the geforce 6600 go in them so be able to use it should not be a problem. Connections or thickness are what im not sure on. But seeing how lazy alienware are I couldnt see them changing the mainboards out either. I found a site that has the replacement screens I will give them a call and see what they say. Will ask about connection and things.
