From nearly all the reviews ive seen there seems to be complaints about these two things, are they that bad? its the only thing from making me buy one of these laptops. Is it hard to type on the keyboard, i am a fast typer, will i struggle with this keyboard or are the keys easy to press. Are there big gaps between the keys? Is the touchpad nonresponsive and you have to press down hard onto it for it to work? For all the people that own this laptop was it worth buying? Check out the specs i configured are they ok? thanks

Ive looked at other laptops and i dont like their designs they look ugly e.g. dell and asus f3jp, this price seems reasonable, it is the full price right? (i dont want the price to get higher)
P.s. is the screen glossy? im not sure & what is the video quality like because i want them to be sharp and not pixelated when blown up to full screen which happens on my current laptop.

The screen is glossy and is really excellent, absolutely superb images. The keyboard is just fine - I really don't understand why people get so het up about this. You don't need to press hard on the touchpad; I found it very hard to set-up until I got ksynaptics going, but that seemed to make it work ok. Before that it was oversensitive and jumped when you removed your finger. You just need to tweak its setting I think.

I don't recall seeing adverse comment about the 6625WD keyboard. It's the 6x24W series where they keyboard could be better and that keyboard comes out of a different factory.

agreed on the screen, agreed on the keyboard. I type a fair bit and is fine for me. In terms of laptop-type devices, I used to have a Psion 7 Series, which had a similar keyboard, so no great change for me. Compared to a desktop keyboard, there is less travel (of course) but so far not found it terrible to write on.
touchpad is a bit sensitive for me, too. Then again, am not used to using a touchpad, so take mine with some salt

your current images will not pixelate due to screen so much as quality of source video. Running a Platoon DVD just now, there was some pixellation, but the fault of a 720 x 576 image playing full screen on 1680 x 1050. Can't avoid it. Roll on HD/BR, eh?

    :)

so your saying that i will get pixelated videos because of the large resolution of the screen. my current resolution is smaller than 1680X1050 but i have integrated graphics which i thought was the reason of having not so good video playback quality. this is the main reason for me buying a new laptop and also games but videos first. hmmm

as for the keyboard and touchpad, good to hear that its ok though i want to know what others think before i make a decision.

I think the pixellation is an interpolation / scaling problem because the display has a higher resolution than the DVD. It is only an issue if you look very closely.

I actually find the keyboard to be quite a bit of a hassle some of the time, though I'm getting used to it now. It's just not very sensitive for me.

I can't comment on the touchpad, as I use a mouse and hate every single laptop touchpad ever.

Iv disabled the touchy too, i hate them, trackpoint or nothing. The screen is great, but the keyboard isnt that great, comparing with an old IBM Thnkpad A31. Its a bit plastic and hard (and btw, iv noticed a plastic sound coming from it when you type fast with the keys on the right side (~t,g,v and to the right) wich is kinda bit annoying if its quiet around you). And the QL buttons arnt that good, theyr too hard to press.

Before purchase my main concern was keyboard
    Bought 6 weeks ago
I was relieved because the Keyboard was of good quality. I'm a two thumb typist it works well for me. Its white esthetically its rather fine, but shows dirt easily.

Touchpad is particularly good. Fused into casing it responds to touch and light taps. No movement as such. It and the two buttons work flawlessly.

That is because we do not have driver support for XP on the 3000 series models so any customer wanting to use XP would have to locate the drivers themselves

    My 2 cents,

Have been using the Znote 6625wd for about 1 month, decent system, but not great for the price. I'm one of 'those' who believe the keyboard is really lacking in quality. Owned a Znote 4200 which was about ½ the cost and specs (2 years ago) and it's keyboard had more quality than this one. For this price near the top of the market, I expected more from the machine in general. It's not bad, but look around first just in case.

No problems with touchpad, it works fine. You can of course disable it easily if you want to you a mouse or trackball.

    Hope this helps!
