    Hello Everyone.

Thanks in advance for your help.. I've been researching for a few days and know that I want the 3270 EH1 with the 80 GB Hard Drive. After looking at all the local 'big name' outlets (Circuit City, Best Buy, Staples, CompUSA) it appears Sam's Club is the lowest, offering it at $899.00 no rebates needed.

My question is, I saw a couple posts on this board about folks getting it for $799 and less.. Should I look elsewhere, or is this the time to jump?

Also, are their any manufacturer rebates that I may be able to grab outside of where I purchase?

    Thanks so much!

The 799 USD model only has a 60GB hdd. You just paid 100 bucks for an extra 20GB of space. Meh. That's about par for the course with notebooks. I have a file server so all we need is scratch space on the systems we have...it wasn't worth it to me. If you don't ahave a file server and you have mp3, video clips, etc, you just may need it.

    Thanks guys,

Well, I went ahead and picked it up. I spent the majority of the day yesterday surfing thru literally about 40 different sites, and Sam's was the cheapest for the 80 GB.

I love it already, though. 30 years old and my first computer. The memory stick plug-in is exceptional. Just need to get internet set up and I should be good to go!

I welcome any suggestions on who (what provider) to go with there..

    THanks again!

Are you looking for a dialup service or broadband? Who are you using now to post messages here?

Hopefully the 3270 has a better onboard wireless than the 3250 that I have. You say this is your first computer (or first laptop?). I don't know about home broadband services - too expensive for me. But check out local hotspots and see if you can connect. The local libraries may have wireless. Some Panera Bread outlets have free wireless. Barnes & Noble have paid wireless as does some McDonalds.

But just drive around with the laptop and scan for access points. You may be surprised at what you find.

also google up seattle wireless and personal telco. They're projects up here in the pacific nw to do with freeing up wifi for the masses. There will be loads of links there to find stuff.
