Can I buy a replacement keyboard for my 6224W?

Anyone know any suppliers - I guess all I need is the same dimensions and it should work?

No, I can tell you that the same dimensions will not work. The ribbon cable that connects to your laptop is placed differently on different models, and the (for lack of better term) pinout is also different.

I beleive most zeptos are made by compal...you need to find the original ODM model or part number and hunt that way. I know that ExcelComputer Inc has compal keyboards, but they are RIDICULOUSLY priced ($99)

I recently found a very good supplier of keyboards called Amylots on Ebay Stores--bought a new compaq keyboard for less than $30 shipped when everyone else was selling the same keyboard for no less than $60.

Since Compal supplies laptops for HP/Compaq as well as Zepto, perhaps you could get a compatible keyboard there for a decent price.

The 6x24W (and 6625WD) series are made by Inventec.

One uncommon feature is that these keyboards contain air vent holes as one source of air for the cooling system. Even if you could find a keyboard with the same size and cable connection it is unlikely that it would also have the ventilation holes.

I just hope that Zepto will get Inventec to change to a nicer keyboard. I would willingly buy one.

I would also very willingly buy one if it became available.

I would try contacting zepto for a new keyboard. They most likely have some spare ones to sell (for a low price)

Yeah, I was hoping that I could replace my 6224W keyboard with another from a different manufacturer.

My keyboard is as good as new, and there is nothing faulty with the keyboard other than it IS the standard/only Zepto keyboard. You can figure out the rest :p
