I have seen differing weights quoted for the IFL90 from the various resellers that sell it, and was wondering which one was closest to being accurate.

PowerNotebooks has the IFL90 with 6 cell at 6.6lbs, and the 9 cell version and NP2090 at 6.95lbs. I figured that 7lbs was way too heavy to carry around everyday. However, at Newegg, the iBuyPower version of the IFL90 has a quoted weight of 6.28lbs, which is pretty reasonable, and not too bad for mobility.

I was wondering, is the IFL90 6.3lbs or 7lbs; if neither, please tell what it actually is.

The Compal IFL90 has always been about 7 lbs. with the 9 cell battery.

If you want something lighter... get the HP 8510p, no? ... considering how inexpensive this notebook is these days.

Doesn't the 8510p run like $250 more than the IFL90? It starts at $1500 the last time I checked, is there anything lower than that?

Sure, it's 1,500$ but it's relatively inexpensive for what it is, and considering how the previous versions were priced...
