Does the notebook turn on at all? If there is any error displayed on the screen, then please can you say what it is. If the RAM has not been installed properly, then it may have damaged the motherboard. Alternatively, you should check that the battery or AC adapter is connected properly.

yeas, it turns on and then it starts to load windows, then it shouts down and restarts, loads windows and shouts down, and so on. There is an error message but its just there fore 0.5 a secend before it restarts so i cant read it.

Okay, try installing one of the RAM modules. Try the original one, and the new one, seperately. See if that makes any difference.

When you installed the RAM, did you make sure that everything was connected back together properly. You could format the computer, however, if there is a RAM problem, then it may interfere with the Windows installation.

If Windows starts to load then I'd think it might not be the ram... Memtest would be ok to try. You can just use any boot cd that has a copy on it.

You might try booting into Safe Mode.

If safe mode consistently works and regular booting doesn't, then that means its Windows's problem. I'd go ahead and run memtest86 (let it go for several cycles) to be sure that it's not a ram problem that only shows up intermittently.

I once had a motherboard die. It took me a long time to track down, and the first symptoms were problems with flash in web pages. How weird is that?

What kind of problems, because I have a thread in here WoW Problems? which I have not updated lately, but I do experience quite a few IE.EXE crashes, and when this last reformat it took me 3 installs to get it to work. First one service pack 2 didn't install right and really REALLY messed up windows where nothing would work. 2nd time it would give me Generic Host 32 errors when the only website I'd been to was Windows Updates, and this 3rd install was ok but I had trouble installing office: Couldn't install from 3 hard drive images, or a CD, and the file missing was clearly present, and it was the same file each time, so I loaded off CD till error, then loaded tried a few times by using the 1 file off HD and it worked.

It took over 50 tries to install WoW, and still after about 30 tries cannot install burning crusade.

Sometimes I have to install other things twice such as AIM, Quake 4s latest patch (had to download twice) because the first one wouldn't install correctly, and I believe that is all.

Memtest 86+ 10 hours of testing no errors, CPU Burn in Several Tests no Error, PC Doctor test from Hiren's Boot Cd 8.4 and several CHKDSK, and even a Salvage Hard Drive checker from Hiren's CD mentioned early.

So I ordered a new stick of ram which comes tommrow, I can test that out see if things work better, but since everything passed the tests, the only thing it could be is:

Keyboard, Optical Drive, or Motherboard. If the tests were right, and If i'm not crazy.

I suppose I should have posted in my own thread as I said I would, but I'll save that for when the RAM comes in tommrow.

Any MORE help would be appreciated, even though I've received alot already.

I almost want to suspect you are onto something... perhaps your windows cd is damaged? Or your rom drive isn't reading well... or your chipset controller..

Maybe jolt something with ESD when changing ram sticks?
