I'd be interested in any info about the Quanta TW3M
It's a VBI, just like the Asus S96J or the Compal HEL80.
    ( VBI notebooks)
Of all the VBI, this is the only 15.4 WXGA NON-Glossy screen!! I can't believe almost all new notebooks are glossy...anyway...
GMA50 graphic card, which I think might be better for non-gamers looking for the lowest noise-temperature-power consumption?
Actually the AC adapter is 65W much like the newest ASUS models like the F3 series, so I guess that should mean lower temp/noise? (Can someome enlighten me on this one please?) (The Asus F3Jm actually has a Go7600 w/512 RAM AND a 65W AC adapter! If only it wasn't glossy!)
The HEL80 or the S96J have a 90W AC Adapter btw.

Anyone know about the quality of this Quanta TW3M model please?
Specially in the heat and noise department?
    Thanks!

if you need dedicated graphics, the TW3A will have an ATi x1400. However (at least in the US), alot of resellers will probably NOT carry Quanta because many have expressed uncertaintly with Intel's VBI program. Outside of the S96J.. I don't see too many other VBI models being pushed much.

I don't really need dedicated gfx. It would be a nice addition for sure, but not mandatory. The TW3A unfortunately is glossy.
I'm not in the US btw. I'm still curious about the quality of the TW3M model if anyone is familiar with it.
    cheers

Looks like the T3WA is now being sold with a Nvidia GeForce GO 7400 (G72M) Video RAM graphics rather than a x1400 ?? Interesting....

Got a TW3A. Quite like it. Has a T2400, 80GB SATA and 1GB SODIMM and performs quite well.

Thing is, I cannot for the life of me get the sound to work!!!!

    Hey, congrats!
Regarding sound drivers, do you have XP SP1 installed instead of SP2?
    Read about it here

What video card do you have then: ATI or NVidia?
    How's the noise/heat of your TW3A?
    LCD is glossy, right?
    cheers

I have the TW3A945PM2, which is the performance version.

It has the glossy screen and the nVIDIA 128MB graphics.

Very quiet, though it generates a lot of heat. Don't leave it on your lap, or you'll melt your nether region!!!

Very happy with it, bar the bloody sound!!!!

I would have got a Asus AS9J, but they are hard to get hold of at the moment.
