I have purchased the HGL-30 and with the glossy screen i am worried about the reflictive nature of the screen.

    1. How would you rank this screen in terms of useablity because of the reflectiveness? and

    2. Would a privacy filter like this ( http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=13914998/) work to help reduce the glare and make the viewing better?

    Thanks for the input

The discussions about glossy vs. matte screens are all over this and every other forum out there. There are those that love it, and those that don't.

The one thing there is a consensus on is that it is a personal choice, so the best thing to do is make your own conclusion once you see it.

Then you can decide whether you want to try the privacy filter (it mostly reduces the viewing angle) or not.

It will reduce some of the glare, but it'll also make it a lot dimmer as well. Beware of that. And you might try a cheaper solution than the privacy filter, if you don't need it to keep things private. How do you like your laptop btw, murawski? I've been looking at getting one with the exact same specs for a while here, just saving my pennies. Do you game much on it?
