I am in the process of purchasing a Znote 6625WD, but it seems like a majority of the Znotes out there suffer from poor build quality, especially the keyboard.

So, how poor build quality is it really?

The build quality is just fine. Regarding the keyboard, it just has a slight hump on the left hand side, however i noticed it only because i was previously aware of it. Otherwiswe all is fine. I believe that Zepto 6625 is a very good notebook.
    Hope this helps!!!

I think my 6324w has great build quality! I would rather take a Logitech Ultra-X as a keyboard. But the Znote keyboard is Okey imo. Better than those strange keyboards on Sony VAIO for example.

After almost 6 months of fairly hard use and travel my 6024W (same OEM as 6625WD, I believe) is still feeling very solid. Yes, the keyboard is the weak link but I see this as more a matter of the keyboard source / specification (it has a relatively hard action) than the overall build quality of the computer. The keyboard has ventilation holes, which may limit the options for alternative sourcing.

The keyboard is FAR from good build quality.. its noise, not 100% flat and isnt secured enough in the right side. It also has a very plastic like feeling.

funny thing though, my old 6214w "should" be the same in casing and all right? its the same size, and shell, but the black keyboard in the 6214 is by FAR better, feels alot thicker and of better quality than the 6224/6324 keyboard.

I'm taking in my 6625wd to have it's keyboard replaced sometime late next
week. The overall feel is loose and you still have to punch the keys to get
them to respond 100% of the time. Though the primary reason for a
replacement is some keys are harder to 'punch' than others and seem to
be getting worse. I'll write here again when I return from Denmark... to
let you all know how much, if anything improves.

As a general opinion, if you're using the 6625wd for business (writing emails,
coding, or in general doing a lot of 'fast' typing) you may re-consider or at
    least buy an external keyboard.

I think that the 6625wd keyboard is fine, may not be the best on the market but its still good enough. It doesnt flex even if you sometimes have to press the keys a bit harder than on other laptops, but you get used to it pretty fast.

Otherwise, the 6625 screen is awsome!

The thing is that 95% of the users with no quality problems don't post here, while 95% of the people who have experienced quality problems do post here.

I guess so. I can't complain on the keyboard. It's way better than a MS/IBM/Dell/HP standard keyboard that you get with desktops. But my Logitech Ultra-X and Logitech G15 is way better ofc.

No way! I own both a 6324w and a VAIO FZ, the FZ's keyboard is MUCH MUCH better in build quality, feel and layout than the Zepto's.

I disagree very much on this subject.
The 6224w keyboard is by far the worst I've ever had!
And no I'm not just on this forum because I've got problems with my machine (even though I do) I joined this forum back when the rumors about this machine started going around, so this was tha place to get info.

It seems logical to conclude that not only to opinions vary, but perhaps the
quality of the laptops, from machine to machine.

When I 'snap' or mount my docking station into my 6625wd, the keyboard
feels considerably better. When it's undocked, it's loose and unresponsive.
This seems to suggest the casing or screws holding it into place aren't as
    tight as other users machines.

    Just brainstorming...

Well I noticed that one screw didnt tighten at all when I removed the keyboard (picked the wrong hole by mistake first :D). Maby the Zepto build-machines are a bit too harsh on the laptops?

Maby adjust the softness/smoothness setting on the mashine? ;D

    I guess not.

You where talking about that the build-machines did not tighten the screws enough in the machines (notebooks).... and i replied what machines? everything is assembled by hand. We use people to assemble the notebooks, not machines :) I don't need information from you about your machine :D

There is a slight differece between machine-built, machine build and a build machine...

build machines are not necessarely machine built (of im not mistaking)

Bought 6625WD 4 months ago T7500 4G ram 2.2Ghz 160G Hybrid HD. The build quality of mine is good. Dockingstation a bit ify. They forgot to put TV card in but sent Arial etc. Also bought Empire M2 USB (Very good).

Runnning Vista business 64 bit (4.5 Windows Experience Index). Some issues with 4G Ram. I'm going to install lastest BIOS in the next few days.

For me it a good every day workhorse and I don't reget buying it.

Yeah. The quality might be much better. But the feeling in VAIO keyboards is crap. They are only good for looking at. Thats my opinion. :)

While Zepto has a standard Notebook keyboard, close to Logitech Ulta-X in feeling. Which i the best keyboard in the World if you ask me. The only thing I can complain about is that you can only press 2-3 keys at the time while gaming and that the keyboard is a bit small and compact. But again, it's a 14,1" :D
