I just can't seem to get this thing to get passed the capture fingerprint enrollment step... I have reinstalled both the driver and software a few times (and tried other drivers from bizcom). I was able to capture my right index finger correctly after around 15-30 minutes just now. I would prefer to be able to capture another but this seems to be quite the task. I'm trying to swipe my finger (pinky) with the same pattern but I'm still getting "OmniPass was unable to obtain a usable fingerprint image. Please try again." :(

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

make sure you're using enough pressure, and going relatively slowly.

I've had no real problems with my fingers except after a shower, or if I get them cut up while working. Overall though I like the software.

sounds like you had the same experience as me.

yup, i tried to set up my fingers the same way i set up my thumbs, but my thumbs got it in 1 shot while my fingers never worked.

It can be frustrating until you get the feel for what the scanner wants from you. I remember having a hard time when I was setting up my profile too. Sometimes the angle of approach will play a role in a good vs. bad swipe.

I know when I'm on a different desk or standing, I sometimes get rejected--but when I'm at my desk at home and sitting it's quite routine.

Practice, practice is the key. Once you get it--it gets easier.

    Good luck!

Yes. It's totally an issue of consistency. It took me some work to get used to swiping the same bit of skin on my finger on the sensor, and my fingers are small.

Then I uninstalled it, reasoning that it was making my computer less secure, rather than more secure, and that the constant notices whenever I launched Firefox were annoying.

Although i use omnipass i have 2 problems with it.
First it uses a lot of CPU "energy". When i am browsing the internet i see that my cpu is constantly jumping from 6%, to 37% to 55% back to 6% and again.... This is causing my battery life to drop to 2 hrs on HGL 30.

Second, i have version 5.00.13 running. i downloaded version 5.00.21 from compal website and tried to install it, it warned me that this is a "trial" version!!!!!!!!!
Anything like that happening to you guys?
