I just did a clean format of my HGL30 and something I noticed is that the machine seems a lot more responsive and has faster boot times when I did not install alot of the crap that is on the HGL30 Driver CD. I didn't install the touchpad, omnipass, their video drivers, media stuff. While I do not have the fingerprint scanner, I found the boot times are a lot faster and the computer is more reponsive. The touchpad is fine without the drivers and I see no need to use them. For video drivers I'm using Forceware 92.91 from Laptopvideo2go.
Is there a need for certain drivers that I'm not aware of?

Does the computer do what you need/expect it to do? Then no, there is no need for those drivers and software.

When I was loading my drivers last night, I just right clicked each yellow item in my computer, and hit update from CD... that keeps the software for the most part from installing, but gives you all but like, 2 of the drivers.
Other then that, I installed the mouse software (turned off the tray icon)
Installed omnipass..
It's definitely one of the fastest systems I've used.
My observation
