Hey guys, my new lcd panel has arrived this morning, working great.
The panel is a LG LP154WU1(A1) matte panel. I used the original lcd flex cable as the panel didn't come with any, so far so good. Thanks for standards. ^^ I don't understand why Compal didn't offer a wuxga+ in the first place.

That's a lot of screen real estate there. Does it make any of the text hard to read at all?

By the way, do you mean WUXGA+ as in WQXGA (2560x1600 :err:)?

It's WUXGA+(1920*1200). While smaller everything is perfectly readable. WQXGA would be really microscopic on a 15.4" :D

I always thought 1920x1200 was WUXGA ( source), and that WUXGA+ is a synonym for WQXGA. But you're right, there's no point to WQXGA on a 15.4" screen. :D

$109+$30 express shipping on ebay. Look for:
    LQ154M1LW02 or LP154WU1.

WUXGA+ on the IFL90, nice! That's a really nice amount of screen real estate. And that's actually a really good price for such a panel. How does it compare to your WSXGA+ ChiMei in terms of picture quality?

Congratulations! Glad to hear the install went well. My apologies for doubting you and saying you should send it back for warranty repairs.

Other than 1080p movies looking way better on it (maybe my eyes are tricking me on that point) and the ability to put more windows next to each others, it's pretty much the same thing. Interestingly enough HL2 runs well at 1920x1200 on the 8600m gt :/
    It's wuxga and not wuxga+, I guess I'm too used to say wsxga+ :D

I'm assuming it will also work in a FL92, but to be safe, I have to ask if it will?

It's the same chassis, so I'm sure @99.9% that it should fit. The dimensions are standardized anyway.

My display is good, but when I ordered the barebone, the matte finish wasn't an available option. I guess I could sell my glossy to help off set the cost. Something to think about......

ARGH!!!! I fell on my laptop this morning. Laptop working fine but the screen is busted. I must be cursed or something it was only 2 weeks old... I guess I'll have to get a new one. Thankfully 1/3 of it is still (relatively speaking) usable so I can still use it for school. :D

Argh, that's awful. On the bright side, at least you know how to replace it yourself, so you'll save a big labor bill.

sorry to hear what just happed Alye. It is such unfortunate event.... I'm also a happy user with LG LP Matte screen though only WSXGA+ (which is good enough for me :p)
Hopefully the next screen panel to come will be treated like jewel :)

Yeah first thing first is getting a new backpack as I've painfully learned today, the regular backpack+sleeve combo don't protect as much as I previously thought.

Yay, I'm back in business. New screen arrived today, installed in 5 minutes, everything's working as it should, I'm a happy panda once again. It's a sharp display this time.
