I have an averatec 6130h1-10 the manual says this laptop will take up to 2gig memory.Does anyone know if the manual states this only because 1 gig sticks were the largest single stick size available at the time.Since now 2gig sticks are available so would this laptop work with 4 meg?

It can only handle 2 gigs max because each slot can only handle a max of 1 gig. That's what I think anyway. If you want you can try and put 2 gigs in one slot and see what happens.
