    MX-A8JS with BT

    I'm a bit confused, if I order a MX-A8JS and add the internal blue tooth module does the laptop come with the 2 year ASUS global warranty and the one year portable one warranty? Or is the ASUS warranty no longer applicable?

    As far as I know you get the portable one 1 year warranty because by adding a bluetooth you are modifying the original system voiding the warranty....this is not applicable to RAM's and HDD's.

    Alright, I will try to shed some light.

    I don't know if it voids it or not or if Asus accepts or valids P1 modification. But, I think if Asus doesn't cover it, P1 may cover it for the additional year. Not too sure. The sale's rep I talked too wasn't too clear. I will have to phone again.

    In addition, Ivang, do you know you will ship out the free mouse that Asus sends? I know P1 offers their own case which is probably better than anything Asus will provide, or so I am told.

    lol, didn't Justin (proportable) say Asus will give out a free BT mouse as well as a carrying case? Don't quote me on that. And I repeat, don't quote me on that.

    it comes in the box.

    if portable one gives another case you get two.

    the mouse is usb wired not bluetooth. The free mouse.

    the a8js comes with a free case and a free mouse

    it is like the targus messenger

    Yes Asus does include a carrying case and a USB Asus mouse with each unit, thought someone who already received one form us would be posting on the forum by now. As for BT, we are part of the few Asus authorized service centers and only use factory supplied parts and our agreement with Asus on bringing the A8J's into the USA originally was as long as we were able to do the BT modifications for our customers; before us these were not even destined to USA, the rest of the world and Canada only. We are still offering such for a small additional fee and currently because this modification is such a difficult one it adds roughly 3 to 5 business days to ship. As for warranty Asus cannot service the upgrade obviously that will need to be handled thru us.
