    Lost my CD-Rom

    I reformatted last night complete clean install and booted to the cd and after all installs and updates it can't find my CD-rom it's there in device but has a problem it's a problem device in hardware I tried working with the vista to fix the problem but it didn't work I tried the bios to defaults save and exit no good I'm pretty sure I loaded the drivers for it when loading all drivers manually anyway it has a problem , I was thinking about removing it from device manger and hoping it'll find it again but not sure

    any Ideas what I can try ?

    Uninstall it in the device manager and reboot.

    as i mentioned in another thread , I googled the problem and found some others had the same problem, someone gave a link to MS and there was a fix-it button, it worked perfect, I tried what you said a dozen times before that and couldn't get that idea to work seams like vista has a problem with this device
