    Laptop Is Blue Screening at Startup

    Hey, help me asap add me on any of my chatting programs. Here is the problem I did an bios update without doing to much research just in a rush. The new bios update. It finished and when it went to restart, it blue screens and i cant do safe mode or anything. WHAT SHOULD I DO !.

    UBER PANIC MODE: Will reformatting drives fix this problem? (last thing i want to do)

    Do I install an older version of bios update?
    HELP SOMEONE! any insight is appreciated

    A BIOS flash will reset defaults.

    Go into the BIOS setup and see if you need to enable AHCI (or if it is enabled, disable it). Getting that wrong is a recipe for BSOD.

    **** it was enabled. I disabled it. Now what?WOW THANK You . So can you explain what AHCI is to me and how it effect the boot up and if i need to do anything now that I am in windows.

    If all else fails, you could simply format and re-install Windows.

    AHCI stands for Advanced Host Controller Interface. It's the means by which your computer communicates with SATA devices (such as the hard drive). It affects boot up because Windows needs to load different drivers depending on whether it is enabled or disabled and if it uses the wrong one, you get a BSOD.     I don't think you need to do anything if everything already works.
