Recently purchased a JHL90 (or at least that's what I think it is. 15.4" with the 9600GT) sans Operating System, intending to install Ubuntu on it.
Problem is, when I try to use the keyboard or touchpad it will not work at all. It'll work to access the BIOS but attempting to install Ubuntu is impossible. Also tried a friend's Vista install CD and the same problem there so it can't be the CD.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance! =)

Any help? I'd really like to get this sorted. The tech support of the company I bought it from is being completely useless.

All I could really say is that it would seem to be a problem with the software. Are you using the latest Ubuntu release? I've installed Ubunty and ArchLinux on my JHL90 with no problems. As a temporary fix you could just use a USB mouse and keyboard until the OS is fully installed and see if it works then.

EDIT- actually just read the part about Vista so you should just send it back and ask them to look at it for you.

I know this seems silly but try to take out the battery and then try to install OS.

I have never had a problem installing Ubuntu on my HL90. What BIOS version are you using?? What version of Ubuntu are you using??
