I am getting rather frustrated at not being able to use any of the newer drivers found at LaptopVideo2Go, or even the latest Zepto ftp drivers with my notebook due to the being seriously unstable. The drivers all install no problems, Windows behaves as you would expect with no graphical glitches/errors. But as soon as I start to play WiC or CoH my notebook crashes after a few seconds/minutes the time varies with no consistancy. The temp never gets above 85C for my GPU before the crashing occurs. I first saw this problem with the latest Zepto official drivers (I hadn't changed them from 174.16 until Zepto released 175.80). I contacted Zepto, who's response at the time was "We are aware of a few problems with these drivers and are working on a fix" but that was ages ago and since they are now considering the 6324W to be "obsolete" I guess they coudn't care less about any problems and are focussing on the newer notebooks.
Does any one else have this problem or is it just me. The newest drivers that I have found to work in all situations are 174.16, which are getting a bit old now. Is it possibly the games that are causing it (I have patched them to the latest, Windows is upto date, I have even reinstalled Windows to see if it makes any difference). Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. I have tried all drivers as they get released I have tried all of the LaptopVideo2Go drivers, all of the nVidia drivers all of the ones from station drivers, all of them give me problems. (Every driver post 174.16 that is)

I would recommend sending it in if the issue's easily replicable.

Just send a detailed step by step instruction on how to crash the laptop, I'm sure they'll know what to fix..

    good luck!

Or what's better, record it with a pocket camera or a video if you want to be shure..

There was a particular Fujitsu model which constantly crashed it's GPU, but the fault was within the WLAN card's drivers. Together with Geforce 7400 drivers they caused crashes. It was finally solved via changing the whole WLAN card into another.

I only had a one year warranty when I bought the notebook. That has expired a while ago so I'm not about to send it to Zepto on the off chance they can "fix" it and charge me for the pleasure, especially as it works fine with the 174.16 drivers.
@Thorne; Thanks for the tip, I will try disabling/removing things like the WLAN card, to see if they make any difference.

Under EU directives such a product should last for at least two years without such malfunctions.

Even HP has taken EU's recommendation seriously. Even though their "normal" warranty for consumers is one year, after calling them and "asking" for another year they will grant it for you. I've bumped into this matter at work where i take care of a large electronics market's warranty services etc.

    edit:

    Check out this link:
    http://eur-lex.europa.eu/smartapi/c...numdoc&lg=EN&numdoc=31999L0044&model=guichett

Read at least the Article 5 which tells the time limits.

All these directives forward the responsibility towards the seller. So no matter where you purchased your goods the shop can't request you to contact the manufacturer or any higher stages. That's the reason why i purchased my Mythos from a local shop. :)

That's an interesting bit of Euro legislation but it doesn't seem to have caught on in UK where one year warranties are still very common. There's a few words on the subject here. "Manufacturing faults" should definitely cover the nvidia GPU.

I have indeed tried using the mobility modder on several driver that are for desktops. I still get the same fault/problem/outcome, works fine in Windows but crashes in a 3D environment. The mobility modder only puts the correct VID/PID and adds some of the historically correct settings for a mobile card into the inf file anyway so the modded inf's at LaptoVideo2Go should do a similar thing.
