Is www.internetishop.com/laptop.asp a good place to buy a laptop. They have great prices, and I know that now all major name brands (Like Dell or HP) actually make their own laptops.

Has anyone actually ordered from them?

Are the good and reliable computers?

I have been thinking about them for the last year, but read the reseller ratings reviews. It looks like most of the people arnt happy with them. One even said that when the laptop was taken apart, it was used with mostly desktop parts and not parts geared for notebooks.

Also, there in CA and not local (but then again that can be said about many sellers). Alot of people say they dont return calls, twist warranty, and extra costs to ship back and fourth.

I had looked at those comments before, and I do not know what to think. Some say that are the best, while some say they are the worst. I have also seen reviews of Dell which say it is the best, and others that say it is the worst.

If Internet iShop is not a good company, is there any other "no name" brand laptops that are worth looking at.

The main reason that I am even considering a "no name" brand laptop is because I read that Dell, HP, etc get their models from these "no name" brand companies , and I thought that I could get the "name brand" quality for the "no name" brand price.

Yeah, I had hoped this might be the case as well, but eventually I discovered 2 things: HP and other manufacturers can usually match or beat the prices on those no-names, and the lack of volume discourages me because you never know if you're gonna have issues and how their small customer support team is gonna handle it. I just don't trust a small company when it comes to a lappy. I can service a desktop just fine and don't need extensive support, but I'm afraid to even touch a screw on a lappy. That's just me.
