This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    It seems that the W840Di is Intel's favorite notebook. They used it to demonstrate their QX9300 processor and now they used it as the basis of a notebook modding competition they hosted in Germany. The entry blogs are on the right side of the page and the competition is already over; the winners were unveiled at CeBIT.

    I would have been interested had Intel hosted this competition in the United States, as I slightly modded my system already (and already in the process of doing another set of mods to it). But even if I did, the winning notebook in the German competition would have pwnd mine.

    this is good news! =) finally the notebook got some serious attention that it deserves! I hope flexitronics and ati does some serious work with the new graphic cards and drivers!

    thanks alot. i'm happy that a huge company like intel is supporting the whirebook. i hope this pushes them to make better bios an stuff for it
