Its been quite awhile since I did any reviews on laptop but this particular brand has irked me to no end and pushing me to a corner. Being a local brand (Malaysia) for me, I've decided to give them a try and see how they perform. I have no qualms with QUANTA itself as I know for sure that QUANTA parts are quality assured HOWEVER, illegear on the other hand, ****ed me over so much that i've decided to post this review here.

Not only did they not test out their products before selling (120hz panel causes sleep issues, endless restarting loop if display is turned off), the engineers themselves were completely oblivious about it, effectively wasting my efforts of going down to their office for at least 10 times within the span of 3 months in order to fix this one issue which in the end they never fixed.

Throughout the repair trips, there were two occasions were my laptop suffered physical damage AFTER the repair service. First instance was when my keyboard's FN key became loose after the repair. It was not noticeable at first as I hardly ever use the FN key until the key popped out by itself literally 2 days after the repair service. And of course, the engineers feigned ignorance regarding it, ultimately agreeing to fix their mess for free before guilt tripping me on it.

Second instance was much more recent when I decided to downgrade my defective 120hz panel back to the 60hz. Upon receiving my unit back, I neglected to check for any physical damages or oddities and it was only until I took it back out again for the second time that I noticed the chasis and bezels were protruding outwards. Clearly the engineer did not fasten/secure my chassis and bezels back in place as when I secured it back in place again, I noticed that my monitor is now randomly displaying vertical lines on at random intervals.(signs of loose cables) in addition to that, by fastening the bezels and chassis back in place, a crack was formed on my LCD as well! After making yet another trip back to their office to get it sorted out, I was much later quoted an exorbitant price of RM900.00 (roughly 225.00USD) to replace my damaged LCD (Only cost 50-65USD). To begin with, their shoddy workmanship caused the inevitable damage and now they are demanding me to pay for their **** up?!

After purchasing this laptop since September 2017, my laptop has spent 1/3 of its time in Illegear's office for RMA service. Never had I EVER used any product that was this fragile in my whole life as a tech enthusiast. Now don't get me wrong though, Illegear is not without their pros as their tech support for one, is 5/5. These guys literally did their best to convince the management team to do me right and for the effort itself, I would rate them highly. Absolutely steer clear from this brand if you are nowhere near Malaysia or if you are willing to go through long arduous RMA processes.
