    IFL90- Which video mem 256 or 512mb? to buy

    Is the 512mb video worth the extra dollars or would the memory be a waste due to lack of the pipelines and bandwidth? TY ktrones

    It doesn't really matter if it's 512 because I've read on multiple forums that all 512 can't be utilized. And anyways, with the 256mb version, you have a chance of it being a GDDR3 version (the good version) while the 512 is the DDR2 version.

    Believe me, if it was discovered that the 256MB versions can be GDDR3, we'd know. ;)

    As far as we all know, all the versions are the DDR2 8600M GT. :(
