Bought a 2200 for my sister at college, she's unable to remove the battery. Several guys in the dorm also tried, without success. They tried moving the latches to all different positions, no luck. She called tech support, they told her the battery should just slide off. But apparently it doesn't. Any ideas? Thanks!

There will be a battery latch to push while you yank out the battery. Sometimes , there is a battery lock, which is another switch near the battery latch. You may need to use a lot of force.

And in very rare cases the battery may have expanded, a sign of a defective battery, and sometimes will not revert back to it's original size and thus becoming stuck.

Perhaps it is stuck. It is covered on page 46 of manual on Avertec's website. Is there some sort of tech support there?

Thanks, I guess that could be it. They tried the latches in every position and could not remove it. I suggested she take it to the school's IT dept, see what happens...

Of course, if that's it, Averatec will want it mailed in for service, which isn't gonna happen, it'll just be returned. Sigh.
