Im doing a fresh install of Windows XP after not being happy with Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit performance with my games...I had updated the bios to 121B for vista.

When i reformatted back to windows XP. I installed the drivers for the NIC and it says that the network cable is not connected. I have no connect light on my router. I was able to get the wireless working correctly. HELP ME PLZ!!!

I have done the following to trouble shoot:

    1. Made sure the cable was good.

    2. Made sure the port was good on the router.

    3. Reverted back to 114B Bios update.

    4. Did another fresh install of Xp pro.

    5. Checked in device manager. Says that the realtek Ethernet NIC is installed and working properly even when its not.

    6. I Updated all the XP Pro Service packs and Security Updates.

    7. All other Drivers for my laptop are installed and working correctly.

    Any ideas??
