    Hello Guys,

    I have Compal HGL31I laptop. I am planning to upgrade its mother board. Is it possible becuase of case in which it is fixed or I have to buy new one?
    Is it possible for me to assemble my own laptop?

    ... I don't think you will be able to upgrade the motherboard. Usually if you want a new motherboard, you are buying a new laptop :)

    Thanks for reply and sorry for being stupid (Actually i m newbie). This mother board is currently hosting Intel Dual Core processor(1.86 Ghz). Is it possible to upgrade CPU for HGL31I? I know that it has got onbaord Intel graphics card which is not exactly a dedicated one. Just wanted to know is it possible to have a dedicated graphics card for HGL31I?

    If it doesn't have an MXM or MXM II slot then no you can't upgrade the graphics. Even if it does... you still have other issues to worry about like VBios. I have never used an HGL31 and so am not familiar with the kind of expansion slots it has... so maybe someone else can help you with the graphics...

    As for CPU that seems possible. What is in there right now?

    Sorry for late reply. It has Intel dual core processor (1.86 GHz). I will give you exact processor model number once I reach Home :)

    Please let me know if you need any further information.
    For now it seems that I should go for new barebone note book which I can configure..

    Here is my CPU model..its Intel T2130 @ 1.8Ghz.

    Is it possible to upgrade it on HGL31I?
