Is there any way to disable the physical Wi-Fi switch so that you can't turn it on or off using it?

I guess you could open the lap and short circuit the right wires, why would you like to do this?

to keep my roommate from going in my room and turning off my internet to play Halo. *sigh*

Hahahaha.
Is just a dummy switch, so you can always short circuit but is on your own risk. I'll check if there is a softway to control it. -

Hmm...it may be worth the risk

Consider though that opening it and modifying the switch will void the warranty. It might be safer just to tell your friend not to touch your computer.

I have. He's very hard headed. Maybe I should just kil...no. Shouldn't do that. Darn warranty voids...always ruining everything

Lol, yeah, I think is more effective to educate your room mate. The switch is good in case you are let's say in the plane and using the laptop, then you don't need to close WiFi/BT using the icon in the notification bar, you just turn the switch off.

Try to plug the wifi card in another PCI-E Slot, the Switch only works with the first of the two slots!
-
Do you have the supporting data for that?

Supporting data would be nice... -
I find jack_silent like a good proposition, but I have my doubts, try it and let us know if it works. Now I'm assuming the 1st PCI is the one closer to the board.
