I dropped in the X9100 I had from my last laptop along with the ram I ordered from newegg with a new harddrive. I loaded E-wrecked's ATI drivers and got 14,050 in 06. Very ooh lala. The laptop showed up in perfect condition. I ordered it from Xoticpc and they shipped it out in lightning speed. Only bad thing is that they shipped it out Ground instead of the 2 day that I paid for but they reimbursed me the difference with no problems and still the laptop showed up a day earlier. Right now I'm downloading TF2 and thinking of FEAR 2. This laptop is very very sweet. When the 4870's come out I'll def' order them from Xoticpc.

Hey Wrecked, one question. I've used the "other brand" video cards and I don't know how if my Crossfire is working. Any hints?

Lol. I had the same problem. Congratulations on your purchase. GPU-z will list 2 enabled gpus, and Catalyst Control Center will list the secondary videocard under hardware information if it's active. Or.....E? You want this one? 2 words Crossfire watermark... Radda Radda Radda, gnomes in the refrigerator. Im just kidding, right click on the ATi tray icon, to to the first videocard, highlight Crossfire X settings and go to show Crossfire status icon(where applicable). Now run a game, you should see the ATi logo in the upper right hand, showing you that Crossfire X is active.

Thanks, it seems to be working.

Also, when I play TF2 the colors don't seem to be as vibrant, tried messing around with the settings but it doesn't seem as colorful. Any suggestions?

    *Update*

Everything seemed to run good on the laptop except 5 minutes into any game it would lock up and I would have to do a dard shutdown. Even with the back propt up and trying different video drivers it would still do it. I double checked all the fans and wires and eveything is hooked up. Computer seems to run a little warm also. I sent a ticket into xoticpc so hopefuly they can do something about it before I send this back

how does it run in 3dmark? does it make it through the whole test?

    have you run memtest?

    have you run prime?

i know i had a few mem sticks this system was really picky with. it didnt like the crucial d9nhl ones. i swapped them for the ocz 1333 and it ran fine after that. that may not be the issue at all but worth checking everything
