Hello, ive got a slite problem with my laptop (hel80)
Im not shure what its called in english, bu if you press start - shutdown computer - its to the left in the menu with 3 choices.

It switches automaticly to this when the laptop lid\screen in put down, and when it is, i cant get out of it, i tried all buttons and the powe switch but it wont turn on

    The screen stays black.

    Guys?
    Cheers :)

try closing the lid completely then opening it back up. With my HGL30, i find that sometimes, when i am in standby or when the screen auto shuts off, it wont come back on again, and a simple closing and opening of the screen gets it back.

There's a thread about that here.

Apparently there was a problem with machines that have more than 1GB RAM. For some reason MS took down a link to the hotfix, but you can find it here.

    Hope that helps!

    Thanks, ill try it out.
I ordered my computer with 2 GB ram, but received it with 1 GB, ill call multicom tomorrow and get them to ship the last ram stick.

I just get an error message when running the fileyou gave me.
But ill look around on the site.

Installed one of the newest english fixes here, but it made the problem worse!
    I got it unninstaled.

Tried all listed on the above link, noene worked.
After installing it it didnt switch to standby modus with the lidd down, i took it up and 10 sek later it witches to standby, and you still cant get it of.

Im experiencing another bug to! when i shut down the computer it gets all the way to "shuting down computer" screen, but it stops and stays there.
That happend before i installed theese patches.

Why does this allways happen to me!

For the suspend issue...click on the link in my signature for the HEL80 review. Scroll down to the section titled "suspend issue", and there's link to the hotfix for it.

Have you installed all of the Windows patches/updates to date? That might help with your hanging problem at shutdown.

It really sounds like a Windows issue to me (the hanging at shutdown). I'd suggest searching Microsoft's website--perhaps they have a fix for that issue.
