1 - What is your GPU?
2 - I think the 75*C is nothing to worry about.

    Idle or full load?

For idle, it seems a bit on the high side.

For full load it seems as cold as a fridge ;)

Guess I'm wrong. I thought normal load temps would be something like 50-60. Is this a laptop thing or something or am I wrong all together?

Modern day graphics cards run hot. Most people have learned to live with that :D

No, that is not really hot after playing a game...it is totally normal.

This is not a laptop thing at all. GPUs and CPUs are hot by their nature, and 75 Celcius after playing a game is to be expected.

mine (EL80) runs at ~41-43 celsius at 2D. This is Linux 2.6.21 (nvidia drivers 9755).

that's with liquidmetal applied to it tho ;)

That would be normal with 2D applications. You are not really heating it up until you run 3D games hard.

Mine (HEL80, WSXGA+ model) is idling around 65. Definitely warms up quite a bit when gaming.

strange that it warms up so much when idle. especially if it's on window$ - afaik, the drivers from nvidia are a bit better as regards power consumption etc.

I'd open up the laptop and check out the fan, blow the dust away from it, mine had accomodated a decent amount of dust (bought it used, 3 months old) and when i cleaned it, the temp went down about 20 degrees!

imachine is correct, 65 Celsius is way too high for idle...it should be in the mid 40's to the low 50's at the very highest.

Clean it as imachine suggests, and if that doesn't solve the issue contact your vendor for help.

Yep. Question, is the 7600 permanently gimped or is there some way to get around that low memory ceiling? My numbers are smack dab in line with your overclock Donald.

Huh? This thread is discussing GPU temperature.

Could you please ask your question with a little more detail in the overclocking thread?
